Italy, a country that has always been at the forefront of supporting Ukraine’s European integration, has welcomed the European Commission’s recommendation to start negotiations with Ukraine on its accession to the EU. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani, in an interview with RBK-Ukraine, published on December 8.
The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his strong support for the European Commission’s decision to open negotiations with Ukraine on its accession to the EU. Tajani noted that Italy has always been an advocate of Ukraine’s European integration and that the country is ready to take an active part in the negotiations. At the same time, the Italian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of Ukraine’s commitment to the European values and standards. He noted that the country must continue to demonstrate its commitment to democratic principles, the rule of law, and human rights. He also emphasized the need to ensure the full implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
