Рада приняла за основу законопроект о штрафах за нарушение комендантского часа

On 9 December, the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament of Ukraine) supported in the first reading the draft law on penalties for violation of curfew. The document number 10195 was voted for by 233 MPs, according to the card of the draft law published on the website of the Parliament.

The proposed amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine provide for the introduction of fines for violating the curfew, which was introduced as one of the quarantine measures to combat the spread of coronavirus. According to the document, the penalty for violating the curfew will be between UAH 17 and 170 (from $0.6 to $6).

The decision of the Verkhovna Rada took into account the opinion of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, which proposed to introduce the penalty for violation of quarantine rules. It is also expected that the same penalties will be provided for violation of other quarantine restrictions.

The adoption of the document in the first reading is an important step towards protecting the health of Ukrainians from the spread of the coronavirus. It also shows the government’s commitment to improving the efficiency of quarantine and safety measures.

The introduction of penalties for violation of the curfew will help to establish order in the streets, restore public safety and reduce the number of contacts between citizens. This is especially important during the period of the coronavirus pandemic, when isolation and mask wearing are the main means of protection.

In addition, the adoption of the document will increase the responsibility of citizens for their actions and, therefore, help to reduce the spread of the virus. It is also expected that the adoption of the draft law will contribute to the improvement of the economic situation in the country, as the introduction of the penalty for violation of the curfew will create the conditions necessary for the resumption of economic activity.

The Verkhovna Rada’s decision to adopt the draft law in the first reading is a positive step towards protecting the health of Ukrainians and restoring public order during the coronavirus pandemic. This document will contribute to the improvement of quarantine measures and the safety of citizens, and will also help to reduce the spread of the virus.
