Предлагаемые price cap не отвечают требованиям для обеспечения импорта – нардеп

Recently, the National Deputy of Ukraine from the «Batkivshchyna» party and former Minister for Housing and Utilities of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kucher, expressed concern about the installation of price caps on imported electricity. During a meeting of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities, he questioned the statement of the head of the electricity department, who claimed that the proposed price caps meet the conditions of import.

Kucher raised this issue in light of the current situation in the energy market in Ukraine. Due to the ongoing political and economic crisis, the country has been experiencing a severe energy crisis, which has led to frequent blackouts and skyrocketing electricity prices. This has greatly affected the population, especially low-income households, who struggle to pay their bills.

The introduction of price caps on imported electricity was proposed as a solution to this problem. The National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, has been working on a mechanism to regulate electricity prices coming from other countries. The goal is to stabilize the market and prevent sharp increases in prices.

However, Kucher has expressed doubts about the effectiveness of this measure. He argues that setting price caps may not be enough to ensure affordable electricity for the population. According to him, the current method of calculating the price caps does not take into account the actual cost of importing electricity, which could lead to further financial losses for the state and increase the burden on consumers.

Kucher also pointed out that the issue of electricity imports should not be considered in isolation, but rather in the context of overall energy policy. He believes that the government needs to take a comprehensive approach and address the root causes of the energy crisis, such as outdated infrastructure, lack of investment, and corruption in the energy sector.

The concerns raised by Kucher are valid and should be taken into consideration by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities. The installation of price caps on imported electricity should not be seen as a quick fix, but rather as part of a larger strategy to improve the energy market in Ukraine.

The energy crisis in Ukraine is a complex issue that requires a joint effort from all stakeholders – the government, energy companies, and the public. It is essential to find a balance between ensuring affordable energy for consumers and creating a sustainable and competitive market.

In conclusion, the statements made by Oleksiy Kucher about the installation of price caps on imported electricity should be carefully considered by the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities. The government needs to address the root causes of the energy crisis and take a comprehensive approach to solving this issue. Only then can we ensure that the population has access to affordable and reliable energy.
